Kirk Williams MPH
Kirk Williams is no stranger to community advocacy and transformative healthcare initiatives. From working with teens on a high school skin of color program to being an active board member for local non-profits like the dream center, he has been a tireless advocate for community well-being. But it is Shop Docs Detroit that brings together his profound love for community and passion for healthcare accessibility. Understanding that healthcare is more than just treating illness—it's about prevention, education, and empowering individuals—Kirk Williams Co-created Shop Docs Detroit to break down the barriers that prevent people from receiving the care they need. For him, this work is more than a mission; it's a calling that embodies his deepest values and commitment to fostering a healthier, stronger Detroit.

Ian Slaughter
With over 30 years of experience shaping the hair and lives of Detroit residents, Ian Slaughter is much more than a barber; he's a cornerstone of our community. Known for his warm smile, keen listening skills, and the atmosphere of camaraderie he's fostered in his barbershop, he also represents the heart and soul of what Shop Docs Detroit is all about. Recognizing the significance of accessible healthcare, Ian eagerly joined our initiative to serve as a host location for our Saturday health checks. But his involvement doesn't stop at providing a venue; he actively engages with his customers, encouraging them to take part in the free screenings and to prioritize their health. Through his advocacy and the deep-rooted trust he's built within the community, Ian has become an invaluable ally in our mission to create a healthier Detroit. For him, the scissors and clippers are just tools of his trade; it's his genuine care for people that truly shapes lives.
